The control center is organizationally part of the Swedish Customs Administration's Control Department and supports the entire event-driven operational activities. The Control Department has a broad mandate to ensure that only approved goods pass through Sweden's borders. The mission involves conducting customs controls on imports and exports, where the Swedish Customs Administration looks for goods that violate restrictions, as well as ensuring that correct customs duties and taxes are collected. The mission also includes stopping or seriously disrupting organized crime and ensuring competitive neutrality. The operations run 24/7, year-round.

About the position

In your role as a Control Room Operator at the Swedish Customs Administration's control center, you assist the on-duty officer in daily operations. For example, you are responsible for maintaining the situational picture of the operational activities. You also work with communication and service to the Swedish Customs Administration's operational staff, case handlers, and the general public. You assess incoming information, handle alarms, process various types of cases, and provide operational staff with support in emerging questions.

Incoming information is documented, administered, assessed, and shared with operational staff as needed for action.

The control center serves as the Swedish Customs Administration's contact point for both national and international contacts.

Are you the one we are looking for?

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Swedish citizenship
  • Completed and approved upper secondary education or equivalent as assessed by the employer
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in both Swedish and English
  • Approved vision and hearing
  • Category B driver's license
  • Good knowledge of the Office package
  • Good IT skills and you are a proficient user of various IT systems
  • At least three years of relevant work experience

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience working as an operator at a control center
  • Language skills
  • Experience with the Swedish Customs Administration's operations
  • Signals security training
  • Experience with Rakel
  • Experience with CCTV

The employment is a permanent position with a 6-month probation period and temporary assignments.

The position involves round-the-clock duty with 12-hour shifts and periodic planning.

Start date: By agreement.
